Areas of Support

Anxiety & Stress
Support for excessive worry, overthinking, feeling overwhelmed, difficulty relaxing, fears, avoidance and everyday stress. Counselling can help clients better understand their anxiety, recognize patterns and develop practical coping strategies.

Anger & Emotional Regulation
Big emotions can sometimes feel difficult to understand or manage. Counselling can help children, youth and adults identify triggers, understand their emotional responses and develop healthier ways of expressing and regulating emotions.

Trauma & Difficult Life Experiences
Past and present experiences can affect how we think, feel, behave and connect with others. I provide a supportive, experience-informed environment where clients can explore difficult experiences at a pace that feels safe and manageable.

Parenting & Family Challenges
Parenting can bring both meaningful experiences and significant challenges. Support may include understanding a child’s emotional or behavioural needs, strengthening parent-child relationships, improving communication and developing practical strategies for challenges at home.

Life Transitions & Personal Growth
Change can be difficult even when it’s positive. Counselling can provide support when navigating changes in relationships, family, school, employment, independence or other stages of life. It can also be a space for people who simply want to better understand themselves and grow.

Depression & Low Mood
Support for sadness, low motivation, loss of interest, isolation, negative thinking and feeling stuck. Together, we can explore what may be contributing to these experiences while working toward improved coping, connection and well-being.

Self-Esteem & Confidence
Support for negative self-talk, self-doubt, insecurity, body-image concerns, difficulty recognizing personal strengths and challenges with confidence. Counselling can help clients develop a healthier relationship with themselves and build greater self-acceptance.

Relationships & Communication
Support for relationship difficulties, recurring conflict, communication challenges, boundaries and disconnection. Counselling can help individuals, couples and families better understand relationship patterns and develop healthier ways of communicating.

Youth & Adolescent Challenges
Children and teens can experience challenges related to school, friendships, family relationships, identity, confidence, emotional regulation, anxiety and growing independence. My experience working with young people spans more than a decade and includes youth programs, developmental support, youth care and child and family services.

Mental Health & Overall Wellness
You don’t need to have a diagnosis—or be experiencing a crisis—to access counselling. Sometimes people simply want a confidential space to talk, gain perspective, strengthen coping skills or focus on their overall emotional wellness.

About Markus
I’m a counsellor with graduate training in Counselling Psychology, offering a warm, collaborative and evidence-informed approach. I use a compassionate, collaborative, and evidence-informed approach to help clients navigate challenges, build insight, and create meaningful change.
My work is grounded in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused approaches, with a strong belief in your strengths, resilience, and capacity for growth.
For more than 10 years, I have worked alongside children, youth, adults and families, supporting people through different stages of life and a wide range of challenges.
My professional journey has taken me through youth programs, developmental-disability services, homelessness and community services, youth care, child welfare, family services, mental health and counselling. These experiences have shaped not only how I work with people, but also the kind of counsellor I want to be.
Why I Chose Counselling
Through more than 10 years of working alongside children, youth, adults and families, I’ve seen how important it is for people to have someone who will genuinely listen, meet them where they are, and recognize the strengths they already carry.
Through MnM’s Counselling & Wellness, I want to offer holistic, respectful and engaging support to people who need it, deserve it and want it. My goal isn’t to tell someone how they should live their life. It’s to create a space where we can work together to understand what’s happening, identify what matters to them, and find meaningful ways forward.
I believe support should feel human, collaborative and accessible—and that asking for support should never mean giving up your voice in the process.
